The concept

Players enter a world where they must become the next top fashion designer before the industry is taken over by the conglomerate brand CAPERE. Levels increase in difficulty across "Fashionlandia."

My focus

I honed in on UI design — finding new, creative ways to display player health and items more aesthetically. The challenge was making game mechanics feel fashionable, not just functional.

Key takeaway

Game UI is UX design under the hardest constraint: it must never break immersion. Every HUD element had to serve the player without pulling them out of the world of Fashionlandia.

Outcome: Delivered full concept art, character designs, level maps, and a Steam page mockup. The game UI system became a personal benchmark for balancing aesthetics with readability.

The game

Players embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries of the Fallen God, the bringer of discord. They master diverse combat strategies and battle through relentless enemy hordes to restore harmony.

My role

As one of the lead programmers, I connected the UI, coded core mechanics, and added cutscenes that made the game flow smoothly. I owned the end-to-end feel of how systems tied together.

What I learned

Every technical decision had a UX consequence. I learned to advocate for player experience even inside engineering conversations — the best systems were the ones users never had to think about.

Outcome: Shipped a complete, playable 2D action-RPG in 10 weeks. Published on itch.io — the UI system and cutscene flow were highlighted by playtesters as standout moments.
